Virtual Staycation

Have you ever been on a Virtual Vacation? Well, if you haven’t, let me explain how much fun they are. This unit we created a Virtual Vacation. A Virtual Vacation is when you go on a vacation on your phone or computer. I had a lot of fun doing it because I learned things that I probably wouldn’t have learned until I am twenty: like how to book a hotel or how to find good plane tickets. It was really interesting to look at different places to tour and eat. I am in the sixth grade so I got $6,000 to spend on my Virtual Vacation. One of the places that I went to was Rome. In Rome I went to the Coliseum. It was really interesting to read about the Gladiators and what they did. I personally thought that I would make a pretty good one myself.

The 4th graders “Traveled Texas” and they received $3,000 for their trip. The 5th graders “Traveled America” and received $4,000 for their trip. It is really cool that we get to do this because our school practices Project Based Learning. I really enjoyed this unit and I know that we will do a lot of things that are fun just like the Virtual Vacation. I hope you will be able to come and see what we have done on October 19th at NTLA. Everyone else will have their projects as well and it will be really fun. #NTXLA #ProjectBasedLearning
