Lena Pope Project

A few years ago we learned about a non-profit organization called Lena Pope Home. That year, and every year since, students at our school adopted families from this organization during the holiday season. This year, we raised money to purchase gifts for the families by doing chores at our homes. When we had all the money raised, we went shopping at Walmart for the families that we volunteered to help. Each family had a wish list. This year my group shopped for a seventeen year-old boy. We bought him a superhero poster, a case for the poster, a collection of comic books, and basketball, and lots of food for his family. The other groups in the school bought items from their families’ wish lists. It’s a fun project and it’s great to give back to those in need.
