Leaders Learn How to Power a Home

In science we are learning about renewable, and nonrenewable energy sources. We are building a little model of a house, and we have to make and show how an energy source plant works. To make my model, I am using cardboard, scrapbook paper, metal scraps and hot glue. I was able to ask my grandma, a teacher, how my renewable energy source works. I also collected information from my dad and researched online. I took apart a printer to use the DC motor to power a LED light inside the model house. I am working with a partner to construct the house. My partner and I created a Prezi to demonstrate how hydroelectricity works and other information. At showcase we will present everything we have been working on.

The Showcase event for the 1st-7th grade leaders' current Project Based Learning unit is this Thursday, October 27th, 5:30-6:30pm. Tonight, Tuesday, October 25th, 5:30-6:30pm, we invite you to drop by to take part in our PreK3-Kindergarten leaders' Community Helpers Unit showcase event!
