Diane Kelt, Early Childhood Educator, Reading/ELA Educator

Diane Kelt holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Radford University and a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has 21 years of full time teaching experience. Prior to working at NTLA, she held lead teaching positions at Oak Hill Academy and Hill School of Fort Worth. During that time, she taught children who were at many different academic and behavior levels, including dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, as well as gifted and talented. In addition, to the continuing education hours she receives each year in her current teaching position, she has MSE Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Certification. This training focused on how to teach fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension using the Orton-Gillingham philosophy of multi-sensory, sequential, direct reading instruction.

Diane enjoys using her creativity, as well as the joy she finds in teaching, to make learning come alive for her students. She is committed to encouraging her students on the path of becoming lifelong learners. Diane's greatest treasures are her three sons, Jacob, Joshua, and Jonah. She enjoys scrapbooking, World War II history, and has added swing dance lessons to her bucket list.
